The Service Builder

Google categorizes the world into Tangible (Products) and Intangible (Services). The Service builder allows agencies, consultants, repair technicians, and SaaS platforms to map their intangible offerings to local and global audiences.

1. Service Identity & Delivery

A Service relies heavily on how and where it is delivered. SPP provides precise tools to define these logistics for search engines.

Primary Topic (Context)

Unlike a Local Business, a Service must be related to a concept. By defining your Primary Topic (e.g., "Taxation" for a Tax Prep service), SPP injects an isRelatedTo property, tying your service to massive Wikipedia knowledge graphs.

Delivery Channels

How does the client interact with the service? Use the Channels repeater to specify if the service is delivered Online (via a web portal), by Phone, or at a Physical Location.

Service Provider Inheritance

By default, SPP assigns your Global Organization as the provider of the Service. However, if you are a marketplace or directory listing services provided by third parties, you can switch this to a Custom Provider to attribute the service correctly.

2. Packaging & Commercial Data

Services rarely have a single, static price like a physical product. SPP handles this by allowing you to define distinct Service Packages.

  • Service Output: Tell Google exactly what the client receives at the end of the service (e.g., "A 50-page SEO Audit Report").
  • Pricing Packages: Use the Offers repeater to list your tiers (e.g., "Basic Consultation", "Enterprise Retainer"). You can set these to Fixed Price, or use variables like Price Starts At or Minimum Price.
  • Aggregate Rating: Provide a combined review score to trigger the Gold Star rich snippet on the SERP.

3. Integrated FAQ Engine

Service pages naturally attract questions. Instead of making you build a separate FAQ schema, the SPP Service builder natively embeds an FAQPage schema directly into the Service node.

Adding questions to this repeater allows you to target "accordion-style" rich results on Google while maintaining the core Service identity of the page.
