The HowTo Schema Builder

Use for posts that describe a step-by-step process, such as a DIY guide, a tutorial, or instructions. This is one of the best builders for winning a “How-to” rich result on Google.

Builder Field Guide

How-To Name

The title of the guide (e.g., “How to Make the Perfect Omelet”). Defaults to the post title.

Total Time & Estimated Cost

These fields add important context to your guide:

  • Total Time (ISO 8601): The total time required to complete the entire task, from start to finish. Must be in ISO 8601 duration format (e.g., PT1H30M for 1 hour 30 minutes, or P2D for 2 days).
  • Estimated Cost: The total cost to perform the task (e.g., "$10.00" or "USD 25.50"). This will be automatically converted into a MonetaryAmount object.

These repeaters form the core of your How-To guide. You can add as many items as you need for each section.

Tool Name: The name of the tool (e.g., "Spatula").

3. Steps (Repeater):

The core of the builder. This is the list of sequential steps to complete the task. Click "Add Step" to add new steps.
